Event Tickets Purchase Terms & Conditions

AWS Community South Africa may change or amend these Terms & Conditions of sale at any time.

Transfers, Cancellations and Refunds

In the event of the conference being cancelled, the purchase will be refunded via the same payment method with which the original purchase was made within 3 weeks of the request. In the event of a postponement, purchased tickets for the original date will be valid for the new date unless otherwise notified. Purchasers have the option to seek a refund for the value of the purchased ticket(s) for a postponed event by contacting us after the announcement of the new conference date. In the event of the refund being authorised for a postponed event, the refund will be processed via the same payment method with which the original purchase was made within 3 weeks. If you have booked for the conference and are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person by logging into Quicket and updating the ticket details not less than 72 before the conference. To cancel a booking for a conference, please email us on staff@awscommunity.co.za.

  1. A full refund can only be provided if notice is received at least 45 days before the event.
  2. A 50% refund is offered if notice is received at least 15 days before the event.
  3. A 25% refund is offered if notice is received at least 5 days before the event, after which no refund will be issued.

These timelines apply for the original event date, and if the event is postponed. All refunds are less applicable bank changes and Quicket booking fees.

General

Your personal information is held by AWS Community South Africa and the authorised agencies. It will not be sold or passed on to any other party unless you opt-in to receive communication by a third party. AWS Community South Africa reserves the right to withdraw, replace or substitute speaker, or amend the programme without prior notice. By attending the conference, you are agreeing to comply with our Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in removal from the conference.

Photographs and footage will be taken at the conference. By entering the conference, you consent to the event photography and footage which will be used by AWS Community South Africa and authorised agencies for the marketing and publicity on our website, social media channels, in third party publications for PR purposes, demonstrations on the expo floor or in presentations, and for in publication of sessions on YouTube and social media. If you would like to have your photo deleted, please email staff@awscommunity.co.za

Indemnity

You enter and use the Premises, parking areas, surrounds, stairs on the Premises & participate in any activities at the Premises entirely at your own risk. The right of admission is reserved. You warrant that you have been advised of & am aware of & accept you will be exposed to a variety of risks & dangers at the Premises & to risks and dangers at the Premises which have been explained to me in detail & that you comprehend the risk & the implications thereof. You agree to always obey any warning notices and instructions of AWS Community South Africa, and staff of the venue. Visitors hold harmless and indemnify the owners, management, staff, directors of AWS Community South Africa and other guests (‘the Indemnified Parties’) against any consequences of visiting, participating in any activities or incidents at or arranged by aws Community South Africa and waive any claims you may have. It includes any loss of/damage to personal effects/property, any indirect, consequential or special loss/damage, financial loss, illness, injury, harm or death howsoever caused & legal costs (attorney & own client scale) that the Indemnified Parties may incur.

Personal Information

You provide unambiguous consent from AWS Community South Africa to obtaining, storing, processing or sharing their personal information as it relates explicitly and only to providing AWS Community Day, such as ensuring tickets are redeemed by the correct person, health and safety and marketing. AWS Community South Africa commits to keep personal information only for as long as it’s legitimately required, take reasonable measures to protect the security of individuals’ personal information, provide access to and update or correct individuals’ personal information if requested to do via email at staff@awscommunity.co.za. AWS Community will not provide your details to any 3rd party unless permission from you, or someone on your behalf, authorises it.

Mailing Lists

By purchasing a ticket for AWS Community Day, you grant AWS Community South Africa the right to store your email address and related data for 5 years to contact you concerning the event and activities around the event and future events. Should you wish to remove yourself from the mailing list, please use the unsubscribe option in the emails. Should you indicate on your ticket purchase, your email address may be provided to selected sponsors.
